In November, we were delighted to host a fabulous party for the special unveiling of a portrait of Leith legend, Mary Moriarty, and to share the reveal alongside the Queen of Leith herself! We’re still celebrating the fact that Leith Theatre is the permanent home for this amazing piece of art.

Over the past month, Leith Theatre has had the privilege of hosting a series of awe-inspiring performances, giving us a tantalising wee glimpse into a future that once felt so far away but is now beginning to seem like a tangible reality.
VOLUNTEERING FOR LEITH THEATRE
Leith Theatre Trust took over the management of the Leith Theatre complex in January 2016 and our volunteer programme started in August that year.
MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL POSTPONED
We are having some difficulty with our heating here at Leith Theatre and have had to take the decision to postpone the screening of The Muppet Christmas Carol this Wednesday. We will show it next Wednesday instead; same time; same festive fun!

We are delighted that the Edinburgh Festivals Expo Fund is to put in £190,000 to enable a music programme to take place in Leith Theatre as part of the Edinburgh International Festival (EIF).

85 years ago this week Leith Theatre, or Leith town Hall as it was then called and the adjoining Library opened their doors with an official opening from the then Lord Provost Rt. Hon. Sir Thomas B Whitson. The art deco space was for its time state of the art.
