Lynn Morrison,
Chief Executive

Lynn has enjoyed a varied career path to get to Leith Theatre, with much experience in independent film and public and private sectors, including a key role at Cultural Enterprise Office and leading on development, operations and business processes during her management roles at The Gate Cinema, Notting Hill, Brixton’s The Ritzy and Edinburgh’s Cameo Cinema. Key leadership roles at major refurbishment projects such as the Grosvenor in Glasgow’s West End and a £7m project at Newcastle’s Tyneside Cinema ensures she brings building redevelopment, project management and strategic commercial experience to Leith Theatre’s capital restoration ambitions.

She has widespread experience of change management, inspiring and managing large teams, developing new audiences and stakeholder engagement. Sustainability and regeneration is a core mission and she is passionate about the arts and creative industries, heritage and communities.

Lynn has been in post since November 2018 and bore the immediate decommissioning of the boiler with good humour, something that goes far in a heritage building with few services. She has used her creative solutions-based approach to encourage an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit to grow within the walls, ultimately guiding the theatre towards its new vision.

Anna Higham,
Finance & Funding Manager

Anna has a varied career background across private and public organisations, with experience in business management, finance, HR and marketing. Her previous role at the City of Edinburgh Council was in the Economic Development: Enterprise and Innovation team, working to enhance opportunities for the creative industries across Edinburgh.

As well as fine art, design and teaching qualifications, she has an MA in Arts, Festival & Cultural Management, with a special interest in creative hubs and the economic and social benefits of creative folk contributing to positive change in communities.

Anna has a love for old buildings and is passionate about heritage and the built environment being reused and re-loved by future generations, so joining the embryonic venue management team in August 2017 felt very apt. She uses her creative energy on funding applications, infographics, problem-solving and keeping a keen eye on future green, digital and tech innovation for this building. Of course, she isn’t above emptying a leaky bucket or two.

She has been a freelance contributing writer for SNACK Magazine, and has been scouted to take part in music conventions including Resonate in Glasgow. Aisha is a life-long Leither who is inspired by the opportunity and the cultural hub that Leith Theatre has to offer for the community, Edinburgh and Scotland. Plus, with the building’s sprung dance floor there’s no need to hang up her dancing shoes yet!
